YARD CHALLENGE - WINNER!

I am winning!  I am winning!
I am the first to complete the dorky yard challenge!  And YES, I made these miniature dorks run the entire mile with me!  Hey Matt, I bet you can't run just ONE mile -- STOP the watch on 1.00 -- NOT A HUNDREDTH FURTHER.    I think Georgia did 1.5 in the time it took the rest of us to do our mile.  And this definitely aligns with my status as crazy woman in the neighborhood.

Day 22: No Recovery=Tired Legs

Today's 4 miler was the first time I really felt the absence of recovery days during this runstreak. Of course, the two dogs pulling me on icy pavement didn't help either, but Day 22 was a bear.

It made me think about actually trying some serious recovery tactics each night to combat the sluggishness: foam rolling, icing, bathing in beer, you know, the basics.

How many days left? :)

RUN ideas -- please add

Add ideas for fun group or solo runs and we can check them off.
1.  One lap of the Louisville swamp at night with headlamps and friends.
2.  My fish house is at the north end of Prior Lake. We could start at the far south access and run the whole length of Prior Lake! And then have lunch or breakfast at my home away from home!
SOOOO. I have to be honest. This week I have not been running. Well, I will just have to wait for the consequences. What I will say is this, at first you don't feel to bad about it, then you start to hear all the other dorks talking about their running for the week and you feel guilty!! Damn you DORKS!!!

Long Distance Running Thoughts

I think it would be helpful for all of us to get a running string of thoughts going on the long distance running. Things any of us have learned, tried/failed, tried/succeeded, read etc.

Winter shows up

Took everything I had to oust myself from my warm house to run, but I didn't want to waste the opportunity to run on my tired legs.  Only able to pull off three miles mostly up and back down, up and back down.    Happy to have made it out, but grumpy that I didn't get beautiful lash sickles like you dorky men.

Only 51 weeks left

Down by the Minnesota river.
Was the weather ever this nice last winter?

I did stick my foot in the swamp accidentally here while trying to cross.  Salomons and smart wool did pretty well.  Heavy legs, guess I better train harder if I plan to make 50 in April.
